Description:
Our traditionally decorated rooms are comfortable and relaxing. The house itself is full of character and offer guests a wonderful spot in which to base a holiday. Kinkell is on the coast outside St Andrews and the farm runs down to the sea with spectacular views of the coastline to the North and to the West of the St Andrews skyline. As well as golf in St Andrews, with its famous Old Course, Kinkell lies between the new St Andrews Links Castle Course and the Torrance and Kittocks course of the Fairmont, St Andrews. Kingsbarns, Crail and Elie golf courses are all close by and there are many others in the area to suit all standards of golf. Kinkell is also ideally situated for enjoying all the other attractions of St Andrews, the University, historic buildings, ruined Cathedral and Castle, and Harbour, as well as the scenic coastal fishing villages of Crail, Pitenweem and Anstruther, the later boasting the best fish and chips in Scotland. There are also many historic houses and gardens in the area, some open to the public. For the more energetic there is the Fife Coastal Path and the spectacular beaches, including the West Sands made famous by the opening scenes of the film "Chariots of Fire". If you choose to eat out the area offers a wide choice of good places to eat and drink, and Sandy and Frippy will happily offer help and advice in making a choice. St Andrews and Kinkell are an ideal base for more extended tours and your hosts will help you to plan your days and also assist with booking golf and restaurants as necessary. There is a tennis court and croquet lawn in the informal garden surrounding the house. Sandy also runs a quad biking and offroad driving centre on a landscaped course running down towards the sea. The farm buildings, Kinkell Byre, have been converted for use as a function venue for weddings and other events.
