The Dunn Thing Guesthouse is situated in the historic town of Ayr on the South West Coast of Scotland. With Open Championship golf courses such as Royal Troon, Turnberry and Old Prestwick within easy driving distance, Ayr makes the perfect location to base a golfing holiday.

The Guest House is a beautiful Victorian Town House situated in a quiet tree lined street only five minutes walk from Ayr's bustling town centre and tranquil shore front, and is rated 3 stars by the Scottish tourist board.

We offer a free collection service from Glasgow-Prestwick airport as well as Ayr bus and train station. Glasgow Airport is also only thirty miles away and has an excellent rail link to Ayr. Light supper can be arranged for late flights coming in by prior arrangement. Golf tee off times can also be arranged through South Ayrshire Council.

All of our en suite bedrooms have recently been redecorated and are pleasantly furnished with facilities that include: a radio alarm clock, hairdryer, television and tea & coffee making facilities.

There is a cot available on request. We have one ground floor bedroom. Also, the recently redecorated television lounge is available for residents to use complete with television, video recorder, games and books to relax with.

Dunlay House is ideally situated in a very quaint leafy conservation area, within a few minutes’ walk of both the town centre and the seafront. Both the bus station and the railway station are only a few minutes’ walk from the house. We are situated approximately ten minutes by car from Glasgow Prestwick International Airport and roughly a half an hour from Glasgow International Airport. We are also fairly close to both ferry terminals and all National Rail Links.

Dunlay House, has recently been refurbished, with 6 tastefully decorated bedrooms all with en-suite bathrooms we are positive you will enjoy your stay. All rooms are equipped with Digital Colour Televisions and Tea & Coffee Making Facilities. Dunlay house is literally a stone’s throw away from the historic ST Johns Tower, which Cromwell commandeered in 1315 and where the 1st parliament was convened when Robert the Bruce was officially crowned. St John’s Tower is one of Ayrshire’s true historic sites being the oldest Kirk in Ayr.

For those seeking an active holiday there is plenty of golf, angling, cycling, horse riding ,walking and hiking on offer within Ayrshire. Ayrshire boasts over 30 golf courses and is home to many championship courses, the world famous Troon Old Prestwick and Turnberry. With its challenging and varied mix of links and parkland courses it is little wonder Ayrshire is aptly names a golfers paradise.
