The Glen Lui Hotel is a comfortable and friendly, family owned and run 19 bedroom hotel. Set within two acres of woodland at the edge of the village of Ballater it is quiet and tranquil with stunning views over the golf course to Lochnagar. Wildlife abounds and you are guaranteed to see red squirrel playing in the pine trees. Ideally located for peace and relaxation, yet only five minutes walk into the village.

Set in the Cairngorm National Park the location is also ideal for walking, golfing, skiing during winter and fly fishing on the River Dee. We are also on the Malt Whisky and Castle Trail and Balmoral, the Royal Family's Scottish residence is nearby.

The hotel has a spacious restaurant where the food is first class with a suitably supportive wine list. A great deal of imagination goes into the preparation of the menus and fresh Scottish produce is used whenever possible. We also have a welcoming bar and a pianist plays the grand piano most Saturday evenings. We can cater for small conferences and are licensed for weddings. There is ample car parking. It is within walking distance of Foresterhill hospital complex.

Nearby there are shops, banks, eateries and next door there is a grade B listed granite church which is a fine example of the work of the renowned Archibald Simpson who designed most of the important granite buildings in Aberdeen.

The property has a large garden to the rear with access directly from the sitting room. The terrace and decked areas offer a quiet place to relax or eat if the weather permits with great views of the church. There is also a small garden to the front of the property, giving the property seclusion and privacy.
