• Owls Roost - Adults Only: nestles at the bottom of Cox Tor, a short walk along a bridle path gives direct access onto Dartmoor. A one bedroom first floor barn conversion, with wonderful vaulted beamed ceilings. Luxury accommodation with spacious rooms. Situated on National Cycle track 27 and plenty of outside storage for cycles. A colourful, private garden & off road parking. This cottage is for adults only and we regret that pets are not allowed.

Complementary wine, flowers and cream tea in both cottages. Both cottages have woodburners, WiFi, TV, DVD & linen provided.

Accessibility:

The hotel is located on 2 floors (ground and First) and has level access to most hotel bedrooms  (a few rooms have steps internally) and all public rooms.

There is ample free parking (tarmac) within an easy walk of the main entrance there are no steps into either of the main entrances. Much of the car park is sloping but there are level areas.

There is a small lift to the first floor located in the Washington Suite.

There are 10 bedrooms located on the ground floor and 2 of these have walk-in showers.

We keep a variety of aids in the hotel (raised toilet seats, frames, hoists etc).

There is a fully accesible toilet on the ground floor of the Washington suite.

Wheel chairs can be accommodated in several rooms.

The hotel has spacious ground floor lounges, bars and restauran and there is level access to the hotel lawns.

Come and stay in our holiday cottages, all set in a fabulous and peaceful location close to the South Devon coast.  We have six individually and comfortably furnished self-catering cottages sleeping 2 – 6, each with its own private garden and views.

Dittiscombe is open all year and we welcome families and couples for summer holidays, romantic off-season breaks, and walking holidays.  Dogs are welcome too with over 20 acres of open space for 'walkies' on site. 

Some of our cottages have woodburners and spa baths and all are well-equipped and include LCD TVs and Wifi.  Within our conservation valley we manage a nature trail with ponds, woodlands and meadows.  Guests can watch the wildlife from their cottage gardens or from vantage points along the nature trail. 

The stunning beaches and coves of South Devon are a short drive away and there’s great walking on the South West Coast Path from Dartmouth to Salcombe.  For a car free day guests can take the 50 minute walk to Slapton village with its two excellent dog-friendly pubs, or perhaps a nature safari around the freshwater lake and reedbeds at Slapton Ley.  Other local coast and countryside activities include hiking on Dartmoor, rock-pooling, canoeing, surfing, sailing and golfing.

We provide our guests with a temporary membership to Dartmouth Golf & Country Club (five miles) where there are 18 and 9-hole courses, a pool, sauna and gym, and can arrange tee-times on the many coastal and moorland golf courses nearby.

During the low season (November to Easter) we offer short breaks at £200 for a 3 nights, fully inclusive.  Our dogs charge is £20 per dog per week, and £10 per dog for a short break.

Accessibility:

Honeysuckle Cottage sleeps 2 with kingsize bed, woodburner, and views of the pond and valley.  It is a single storey cottage which is suitable for people with limited mobility. There are 2 steps to the front door, one step to the kitchen/dining room, and 2 steps down to the bedroom.  It is not suitable for wheelchair users.  The garden is a approximately 20 feet from the front door and there is a level, gravel area with chairs and table.  Guests can unload outside the cottage but the communal car park is approximately 200 meters on a level gravel surface.  Further information about Dittiscombe Holiday Cottages can be found on the Accessibility Statement on our Cottages page on our website.
