Located right on the border in north-west Northern Ireland, in County Derry, Londonderry is an historic town full of culture, attractions and nightlife. Derry's 17th-century layout is intact, with the Diamond Centre leading out to 4 main gateways: Bishop's Gate, Ferryquay Gate, Shipquay Gate, and Butcher's Gate. Visitors should check out the Gothic St. Columb Cathedral in the historic centre, as well as the Guildhall just outside the city walls. Nearby lie the scenic Sperrin Mountains, the beach at Magilligan Strand, and Ballyarnet, where Amelia Earhart made her historic landing in 1932.

Description:
Family run bed and breakfast. Victorian property with mature gardens, close to shops, restaurant, pub etc. The house has wireless internet connection in all rooms, and there is also a computer for guest use. All rooms have ensuite facilities and tv. There is a guest kitchen where snacks or even full meals can be prepared. Guests have use of the garden, patio and barbecue facilities. A separate tv lounge is also available. Many of our guests refer to Arkle House as a home from home, and that's the feeling you get as you drive in, even before you get inside. The house is absolutely bursting with character and charm. The dining room and tv lounge have original fire places dating back to circa 1890. The old bathroom has a Victorian roll top bath dated 1903, and there are many more charming features. We are ideally located about 5 minutes drive from Derry city centre 25 to 30 minutes from City of Derry airport, close to the university and Templemore sports complex .Donegal, the Inishowen peninsula and the Giant's Causeway are easy driving distances. Foyle International and Derry City golf courses are only 10 to 15 minutes drive. The two fantastic links courses at Bayliffin Golf club are only 35 to 40 minutes.
